Stuntwoman, stunt actress, and stunt coordinator Sonia Jo McDancer, formerly Sonia Izzolena, is married to fellow stuntman Buck McDancer. She is known for her work on Planet of the Apes (2001), Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) and Star Trek: Insurrection (1998) where she was one of the stunt doubles for Marina Sirtis in Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek Nemesis.
Sonia Jo McDancer is a 7th degree Black Belt who is known for training the stars in both martial arts and stunts. She has stunt doubled for stars such as Gina Gershon, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Judy Reyes.
Among her stunt resume are films such as The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991, with stunts by Charlie Brewer, Jophery C. Brown, Eugene Collier, Bud Davis, Donna Garrett, Mary Peters, Peewee Piemonte, Don Pulford, and Lynn Salvatori), Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991, with Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa), Red Shoe Diaries (1992), Direct Hit (1994), The Beautician and the Beast (1997, with stunts by Maria Doest, Rosine “Ace” Hatem, Rita Minor, and Brian J. Williams), Submerged (2000), Fat Albert (2004, with stunts by Rick Avery, LaFaye Baker, and Buck McDancer), and the first two Pirates of the Caribbean films (2003 and 2006, with stunts by Tom Morga, Mark Aaron Wagner, Tony Angelotti, and Theo Kypri).
