Lisa Hoyle is a top stuntwomen who has doubled for over a hundred actresses and also works as a stunt coordinator. She is a member of The Stuntwomen’s Association, and has worked on projects including Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004) where she doubles for Christina Applegate, Spider-Man 2 (2004), Mission: Impossible III (2006) with Tom Cruise, and Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood (2019).
Lisa Hoyle began her stunt career by studying gymnastics and the flying trapeze as a child. She was drawn to acrobatics in college and after performing her first high fall with the acrobatic troupe she could see herself performing stunts and she made the decision to pursue a stunt career.
Since Then, Lisa has gone on to become one of the most successful stunt doubles in the entertainment industry. Her stunt credits include doubling for Angelina Jolie in Cyborg 2: Glass Shadow, for Diane Kruger in National Treasure (2004), and for Goldie Hawn in Snatched (2017).
Lisa Hoyle’s most memorable and dangerous stunt took place in Charlie’s Angels (2000) where she did an incredible 93 foot fall. She admits being nervous the night before, but after completing the stunt, she was ready to perform it over again right away. Lisa’s has passed her enthusiasm on to her daughter Sierra Hoyle, who has followed Lisa’s into the stunt profession.
Of stunt work Lisa says, stunt work is the ‘best job in the world’, and she continues to perform stunts and to double for actresses, however she knows combines this work with stunt coordinating.
Lisa Hoyle was recognized by the World Acrobatic Society in 2008 and by the Taurus World Stunt Awards with Best Fight for her work in The Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007) and she deserves the recognition as her skill and dedication to her craft is suberb.
