Stuntwoman, actress and motion capture performer, Amy Johnston is known for her work on Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and Suicide Squad (2016).
Amy Johnston has rapidly been making her mark in Hollywood. From stunt doubling actresses on major films such as Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Deadpool, she is now taking front stage as a leading actress.
Amy first starred in Lady Bloodfight (2016) by Voltage Pictures. She then went on to star in Female Fight Squad (2016) by Lionsgate. Quickly following her first two films, Amy starred in the award winning short film titled The Gate. She is consistently working as an actress and martial artist in popular video games such as Tomb Raider and Spiderman. Amy also played the very memorable “Jane The Ripper” in Sony’s new feature film titled Accident Man.
As a stunt double, Amy Johnston worked performing stunts for Scarlett Johannsson in the role of Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Amy Johnson was born on February 5, 1990 in Van Nuys, California. She was raised in Wyoming. Her father, Dave Johnston, was a former 5-time World Kickboxing Association (WKA) professional kickboxing champion and he was also her first martial arts instructor.
Amy Johnston began training in the martial arts when she was 6 years old, studying in her father’s “progressive style” which was a mix of Kenpo, taekwondo, kung fu, kickboxing, and the Filipino art of arnis. She also took part in numerous martial arts competitions, competing in both sparring and forms and she often won first place and Grand Championships in many of those competitions. She is a 3rd degree Black Belt
Amy says she was, and still is, inspired to do what she does by Michelle Yeoh, Jackie Chan and, of course, Bruce Lee.
